INDIA - Summer Break with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC)

INDIA - Summer Break with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC)
Sunday, May 26, 2013 - 1:00pm to Tuesday, June 4, 2013 - 1:00pm

India

Travel May 26 - June 4th with NYU students, in partnership with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Community (JDC), to work with the Jewish community of India. Work on meaningful volunteer projects that address community challenges.

Participants will gain insight into global Jewish needs, connect with local Jewish peers, and explore the notion of a collective Jewish identity and responsibility. Through engagement and dialogue, the group will explore the connection between community service and Judaism. Click here to check out the JDC Entwine website to see what this looks like.

Eligible applicants are currently Freshmen, Sophomores, or Juniors and will be continuing school in 2013-2014.

The participation fee has been heavily subsidized by the JDC and by a generous grant from Repair the World. Students are responsible for an all-inclusive fee of $1325, which covers everything (airfare, accomodations, program costs, meals, etc). It is possible to bring this cost down through individual fundraising efforts. Please email us at bronfman.trips@nyu.edu if this is of interest.
