Intersecting Identities: Queer-Jewish Storytelling

Intersecting Identities: Queer-Jewish Storytelling
Wednesday, April 17, 2013 - 7:00pm

Bronfman Center, 2nd Floor Jenny room (back of the building)

During Ally Week, Keshet and Rabbi Nikki DeBlosi will be hosting a story telling event to facilitate a discussion of life as both a Jew and a member of the Queer community. This will be a safe, positive, space for all members of the LGBTQ community and supporters to tell their stories and share how their identities coincide with the Jewish culture. We all have a story about coming out, struggling with identity, and finding a place within Judaism outside the tradition of man and woman. This is a time to share those stories and experiences, offer support and advice to those still struggling, and rejoice in our beautiful lifestyles as both Jews and Queers. Everyone in attendance will have a chance to tell their story, and we will continue the evening with a discussion of whatever major themes come up (coming out to loved ones and friends, reconciling religion and sexuality, etc).
