Re-Form "Jewish": A Progressive Jewish Discussion Group with Rabbi Nikki
Re-Form "Jewish": A Progressive Jewish Discussion Group with Rabbi Nikki Monday, September 30, 2013 - 6:00pm
Curious what the Torah does—and doesn’t—have to say about issues that affect your daily life, your university, your nation, and your world? Care about progressive values like equality, economic justice, and reproductive rights? Interested in discussing the Torah and other traditional Jewish texts with other progressive folks? Want to know how all this study can help you enrich your emotional and spiritual life? Whether you identify as Reform, Reconstructionist, Renewal, “just Jewish,” Jew-ish, Jew-curious, or something else entirely, if you’re interested in how the Torah relates to your life, this open discussion group is for you. We study our texts in translation (original texts usually also provided) and in an open, honest, and welcoming atmosphere. Last year, our “Lunch Forward” discussions propelled us into talks about family dynamics, gender roles, belief and doubt, and gun control. Continue that conversation this year, and help re-form your own Jewish identity. Led by Rabbi Nikki DeBlosi, Bronfman Center Reform Rabbinic Fellow and Scholar-in-Residence. Kosher food will be served. For more information contact Rabbi Nikki at email@example.com.
