Looking to make Jewish friends? Join one of our learning cohorts!

What does G-d think of my Hinge profile?

NYU Hillel offers 10-week, 6-week, and 4-week, conversational seminars for students looking to deepen their understanding of Judaism on their own terms. See the list of options below. Unless otherwise specified, learning programs are open to everyone regardless of if you've completed a learning cohort before!

  • JLF: Life's Big Questions

You're in college. So, you're an adult now, right? Feel like you should have all the answers? JLF brings together a group of students trying to figure out how to be adults, and what place Jewishness has in all this. We'll ask and answer questions like, How do I make friends? What can I expect in a sexual relationship? How can I cope with conflict? What do I actually believe in? As in, Who do I want to become? Recommended for first-year students; open to all undergraduates who have not previously participated in JLF.

    Meets Tuesdays 5:30-7pm.

$250 stipend awarded upon completion of the course. Only open for first time fellows.

  • JLF: Sex, Love & Relationships

Let's talk about sex, Jewishly. For many of us sexuality and intimacy are some of the issues that matter most but around which we receive the least guidance. We will aim to explore sexual ethics and the ever-elusive notion of intimacy in a way that honors our minds and bodies and respects our position as modern, thoughtful adults. Open to all undergraduates who have not previously participated in JLF.

    Meets Mondays 5:30-7pm

$250 stipend awarded upon completion of the course. Only open to first time fellows.

  • JLF: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Wellbeing

Well-being is a topic that has been explored, considered, and pursued through Jewish text and tradition for millenia. In this series, we will explore Jewish ideas and approaches to well-being, developing our own directions and approaches to well-being within contemporary life.

    Meets Wednesdays from 5:30-7pm.

$250 stipend awarded upon completion of the course. Only open to first time fellows.

  • life's big questions 2.0

    JLF: Life's Big Questions 2.0

As graduates of JLF 1.0,  you have the opportunity to go deeper and faster with text learning and conversation in Life’s Big Questions 2.0. In this section, we will explore the even bigger Jewish questions. Like is it important to have a personal concept of God? Is forgiveness important? Who are we, as Jews, responsible to care for?
